V1 is for business owners who hire developers. Owners manage their projects in the client dashboard; invited developers work in a separate portal. Agency-to-client workspaces are planned for a later release and agency signup is not open yet.
Invite a developer by email and assign their projects. They sign in through an emailed magic link and can access the work assigned to them, submit milestones and share project files. Owners review deliveries in their own dashboard.
Each workspace has its own portal address. Plans with custom branding let you add your logo and colors. Custom domains are available on eligible plans after domain verification.
Project invoices and milestone funding are separate from your Approvalane subscription. Card payments require the platform payment service to be active; developer payouts require the relevant payout setup. Review the invoice and funding terms before paying.
Milestone approvals and change requests are recorded with timestamps and the acting user. A hash-chained project timeline helps you follow what was delivered, reviewed and changed.
Developer access is checked against project assignments within the workspace. Owners control invitations and assignments. Keep account and portal access restricted to the people working on the project.
Availability depends on your plan. Messaging requires the realtime service, and AI requires the platform AI service to be configured. The plan cards show which features each tier unlocks.
